In a draw of sorts at the Mississippi oval, the 2016 King of the Wings event saw Aaron Reutzel and Andy McElhannon split the weekend over a field of 35 competitors. The rematch has already attracted the attention of drivers from Florida to Texas.

Offering up a nice payout of $2,000 to win, $300 to start on Friday and $3,000 to win, $300 to start on Saturday, the drive to Byram, Miss. will be worth it for teams who seek to be the King of the Wings in 2017.

Fighting through the field of drivers from the King of the 360’s, Lane Whittington is the highest scored Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprint driver. For the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region, the top spot belongs to the five time series champion, Ray Allen Kulhanek with Travis Rilat and Tommy Bryant within 18 markers of the No. 21t.

With the co-sanctioned event, the points could be a major shakeup as each region will be scored independently.

Saturday, April 8 will swap out classes for the NeSmith Street Stocks and Crate Late Models. General Admission is $20.
