ASCS Red River and Warrior Region Kicking Off Weekend At Heartland Park Topeka

TULSA, Okla. (June 20, 2017) The Sun Flower State Showdown beckons as the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will again go head-to-head with the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps at Heartland Park Topeka on Friday, June 23, 2017

The lone Sprint Car event in 2017, the regional match-up between the two ASCS series at the three-eighths mile oval which was constructed in 2001 following the famed use of a temporary oval in 1999. Friday, June 23 opens at 5:30 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:30 P.M. (CDT). Admission is $15. According to the track, everyone who brings a can of food to the race will receive a raffle ticket for a ride in one of the Pace Cars. All donations will benefit Harvesters.

Following the Friday night showdown, the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products will stay in Kansas with the series debut at Caney Valley Speedway on Saturday, June 24. The Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps will make their return trip to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo.

Saturday at Caney Valley Speedway for the ASCS Red River Region begins at 7:00 P.M. and includes Factory Stocks, Street Stocks, and USRA B-Mods. For the ASCS Warrior Region at Lake Ozark Speedway gets rolling at 7:00 P.M. with Late Models, Modifieds, B-Mods, and Street Stocks on the card.

For the Red River Region, Alex Sewell has taken over the point’s lead from cousin, Jared Sewell with Kade Morton, Fred Mattox, and John Carney II making up the top-five. Jonathan Cornell continues to lead the way with the ASCS Warriors. Taylor Walton, Miles Paulus, Danny Thoman, and Jay Russell make up the top-five.
