ASCS Red River and Mid-South Regions Back At I-30 Speedway For Ralph Henson Memorial

Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (September 11, 2018) The next showdown between the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products and the ASCS Mid-South Region is set for Saturday, September 15 with the Tribute to Ralph Henson at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark.

The 11th year that I-30 Speedway has paid respect to Henson, the purse will see an adjustment to reflect the six-time I-30 Speedway track champion with the winner pocketing $2,046 with $346 to start to the A-Feature. In 10 previous events, nine drivers have emerged victorious with Tony Bruce, Jr. adding his name to the list of winners one year ago. The only driver to double is Zach Pringle, who went back-to-back in 2010 and 2011.

Just like last year, this weekend’s showdown is the last tune-up for drivers planning on taking on the 31st annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tire, happening October 4-6.

Going into Saturday night, both championship chases are well dominated as Howard Moore sits 132 points ahead of Ernie Ainsworth in the Mid-South chase. Alex Sewell, who hustled to a podium finish with a backup car in his last showing at I-30 Speedway, sits 264 markers ahead of Lance Norick with the Red River Region.

Saturday, September 15 at I-30 Speedway opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing underway at 7:30 P.M. (CDT).

In addition to the ASCS Mid-South and Red River Regions, Saturday will also include IMCA Mods, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks and NOW600 Micros. Admission is $20, Kids 6-12 are $1 when accompanied by a paid adult ticket. Children five and under are free into the Grandstands. Pit Passes are $35.
