ASCS National Director Matt Ward Going Racing With ASCS Frontier Region At Big Sky Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – BILLINGS, Mont. (July 3, 2019) Trading the Headset for the Helmet, American Sprint Car Series National Director, Matt Ward, will be in action Saturday, July 6 with the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont.

For this coming weekend, Ward will strap into a McCune Motorsports mount with his cousin, Blake Hahn, changing roles from driver to mechanic along with Hahn’s right-hand man, Dalton Siegler helping get Ward on track.

“I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel this weekend. I really appreciate Jeremy McCune allowing me to get in one of his cars and have some fun,” stated Matt Ward.

An accomplished driver in Micro and Midgets ranks, Ward is no stranger to Sprint Cars with laps turned in both ASCS and USAC competition, though it has been several years since Matt sat behind the wheel of an ASCS style car with three appearances in April 2015 in Texas and Oklahoma with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.

As an official with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network, getting behind the wheel serves a greater purpose for Ward.

“The chance to get on track with one of our Regional Tours as an official, I feel like it gives me perspective to what the drivers are seeing and experiencing and helps me do better do my job. Being able to operate on both sides of the fence, so to say, provides clarity for me.”

The Brodix ASCS Frontier Region at Big Sky Speedway on Saturday, July 6 is the Ostermiller, Reiker, and Quinn Memorial Weekend and includes an Independence Day Weekend Fireworks Show. The race night gets underway at 7:25 P.M. (MT). Admission is $20 with kids 60” and shorter admitted free of charge into the grandstands. Information on the track can be found online at https://www.bigskyspeedway.com.
