Team 6R Racing heads to Iowa Speedway's "Casey's General Stores 100"

While Team 6R Racing prepares for their trip to Iowa Speedway's 7/8 mile paved oval, racefans may notice that while some things change, others remain the same.

Last year, Team 6R Racing entered the 100-lap Iowa event with return visits for drivers Brian Tyler and Kody Swanson, while young Tanner Swanson was making his first career pavement Silver Crown start. Since then, Tanner Swanson went on to pick up his 1st career Silver Crown win at Berlin Raceway's "Great Lakes 150," while brother Kody followed the performance with his 1st career Silver Crown victory at the DuQuoin Mile's "Ted Horn 100." Something else that has changed, is that driver Kody Swanson, who finished 2nd at Iowa last year and finished a close 3rd in the 2010 Championship standings, will not be competing in the event. The young driver suffered serious injuries in a May 21st Midget accident during the "Hut 100" in Haubstadt. While Kody is doing well and continuing to heal, the exact date of his return to racing remains unknown.

Something that hasn't changed for Team 6R? Driver Brian Tyler remains a series veteran that continues to challenge for the win at every event on the series schedule. Tyler is currently 2nd on the ALL-TIME Silver Crown winners list, leads all active drivers with 16 Career Wins in the series, and has won more Silver Crown races over the past 3 seasons than any other driver.

This year, Brian Tyler and Tanner Swanson will travel to Iowa Speedway with Team 6R Racing for the 3rd event of the 2011 USAC Traxxas Silver Crown season. The duo has combined for 2 Top 5 finishes and 4 Top 10's in the two events held thus far, but both are looking for their first win of the season. Tanner is currently locked in a 3-way tie for 2nd in the series standings at 96 points, while Brian Tyler is 5th with 90 points. The USAC Silver Crown series remains very competitive, and the points standings reflect just that. The "Top 5" drivers in the current standings include a USAC Triple Crown Champion (Jerry Coons Jr), a 2-Time Western Sprint Champion (Tanner Swanson), a defending Silver Crown and 4-Time National Sprint Champion (Levi Jones), a 3-Time Silver Crown Champion (Bud Kaeding), and a 2-Time National Sprint Car Champion (Brian Tyler).

Team 6R Racing will keep fans involved with LIVE updates from the racetrack on drivers Brian Tyler and Tanner Swanson available on the Swanson Brothers-TK Motorsports Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Swanson-Brothers-TK-Motorsports/324571431778
