RACE OF CHAMPIONS READY FOR BIG NIGHT AT LAKE ERIE SPEEDWAY ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 AS PART OF 31ST ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO TOMMY DRUAR AND TONY JANKOWIAK

The Race of Champions Modified Series is set to roll this Saturday night at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., with the 31st Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak.

The event features 110-laps of Modified racing for the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series. Matt Hirschman of Northampton, Pa., is the defending champion of the event.

Along with the Modifieds, the Race of Champions Super Stock Series, Street Stock Series, Four Cylinder Dash Series and NYPA TQ Midgets will join the card.

The free “KIDS ROC” Race of Champions Kids Club will also make its debut as part of the event. The first 50 children to register (https://www.myracepass.com/series/1810/registrations/2585) that are attending the event will receive custom designed free t-shirt. In addition the first 40 children to join the “ROC KIDS” activity at 5:30pm on the Midway will receive a free mask which they can apply their own design to. Craft materials will be supplied. There will also be a coloring contest hosted by WGR550 auto-racing personality and voice of the Race of Champions Series, Dave Buchanan and Ms. VP Racing Fuels, Mariah Reilly.

Fans are welcome and masks are required in situations where social distancing may not be practiced. Advance tickets and camping spaces are on sale and moving for the 31st Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar / Tony Jankowiak 110 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., on Saturday, August 15, 2020

Masks or facial coverings will be required (when you are within 6 feet of anyone) and social distancing will be practiced due to state and county established restrictions due to COVID-19 as Erie County Pennsylvania remains in the “green” phase of the state’s reopening plan.

Phased reopening in all states varies based on the guidelines set forth by local, regional and state authorities. Current regulations and restrictions (no live audiences/fans) are permitted in New York State and it is not financially feasible for many speedways and series, including the Race of Champions to conduct racing events at various speedways.

All Race of Champions events that are run will follow all guidelines as set forth by any authority (local, regional, state or federal) including the CDC.

The Race of Champions will continue to utilize their contactless points of purchase, membership and event registration which was introduced at the June 26 and 27 events at Lake Erie Speedway.

Group and Suite Pass Programs are available. Please contact (814) 725-3303 for details.
