Lawrence on Track for Top-10 Finish Before Late Incident at Devil’s Bowl

Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (May 30, 2019) – Zane Lawrence was on pace to capture another top-10 finish before a late-race incident occurred last Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, which hosted an ASCS Gulf South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region event.

“It was fun to be back in the 360ci sprint car this weekend,” he said. “We made the familiar trip to Devil’s Bowl and were maintaining a decent run before trouble struck with five laps to go.”

Lawrence kicked off the night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway by finishing where he started – fifth – in a heat race. That relegated him to starting the B Main on the inside of the second row. He powered to the victory to transfer into the main event.

Lawrence lined up in the 15th starting position for the A Main and he maneuvered his way forward before encountering a late-race incident, which ultimately took him out of contention. He was scored with a 12th-place result.

“I felt like we could make some ground in the feature and secure a top-10 finish,” he said. “We were on the path for that before we got caught up in an incident. Two cars were racing for position in front of me and made contact. We just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Lawrence is scheduled to return to action this Saturday at 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas, with the Texas Sprint Series.
