SOS TOUR HEADS TO SOUTHERN ONTARIO MOTOR SPEEDWAY

MERLIN, Ont. (May 27, 2023) - The 2023 Southern Ontario Sprints series presented by Tammy 10 Media is back in Chatham-Kent on Saturday night for the first of three scheduled visits to Southern Ontario Motor Speedway this season.

The track formerly known as South Buxton Raceway was the site of the first event in SOS history back in 1996, but only a handful of winged Sprint Car races have been run at SOMS since the track was completely reconfigured several years ago; Dylan Westbrook claimed the win in last season's SOS event, while Darren Dryden (Action Sprint Tour) and D.J. Christie (Knights of Thunder) took wins in 2021.

A good field is expected to compete in the event, which will now serve as the season opener for the SOS following rainouts at Merrittville and Brighton. Saturday's race now serves as the opener for the Nitro 54 Super Series and will pay $3,000-to-win. The wingless Ontario Traditional Sprints series will also open its season on Saturday at SOMS, and the highest finishing car to run in both the SOS and OTS races will be awarded a $500 bonus!

Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm on Saturday, May 27. Visit www.southernontariomotorspeedway.com for more information.

A points fund in excess of $16,000 will be divided among competitors thanks to the support of Tammy Ten Media, and selected events will be broadcast live on GForceTV.
