Morgan Bagley Conquers CCSDS at Crowley’s Ridge Inaugural Southern Dirt Track Championship Up Next

Longview, Texas – For the second-straight week Morgan piloted his P&W Sales No. 14m GottaRace.com / XR1 Rocket Chassis Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to a feature win. His latest trip to the Winner’s Circle came on Friday night at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series.

He was awarded $3,000 for his first series win of 2019 and his third win overall of the season.

“We just kinda bided our time early there, starting back in the eighth position and before I knew it I was up to third and reeling in Timmy [Culp] and [Kyle] Beard. Those guys were having a heck of a battle, but then they got bottled up in lapped traffic, and I took advantage,” Bagley said. “Culp had to move off the bottom to work past a lapped car, and I was able to take advantage and get the lead. After that the track really started to clean up on the bottom, and I knew I just had to hit my marks.

“The past month or so things have really started to click for my team, and I just want to again thank my car owners, Wayman and Kay Lynn McMillian for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

Morgan Bagley kicked off the Labor Day weekend with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series on Friday evening at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas). In a field of 28 competitors, Morgan locked his spot into the opening night feature with a runner-up performance in his heat race.

Starting the feature in the eighth position, Bagley overtook Timothy Culp for the lead on lap 25 and built a 0.963 second margin throughout the remaining distance to capture his third win of the season and a $3,000 payday. Culp, B.J. Robinson, Brian Rickman, and Wendell Wallace trailed him to the checkers in the 40-lap affair.

On Saturday afternoon at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi), Bagley finished fifth in his heat race, which positioned him 14th on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Gaining four spots in the 35-lap feature, Morgan reeled in a 10th-place outing.

Wrapping up the tripleheader with the CCSDS, Bagley rolled into Johnny Stokes’ Magnolia Motor Speedway (Magnolia, Mississippi) on Sunday afternoon. After recording a second-place finish in his heat behind Hunter Rasdon, Morgan earned the sixth-starting position for the finale.

With a $3,000 top prize on the line, Morgan Bagley advanced one position to place fifth in the final running order behind Chad Thrash, B.J. Robinson, Dane Dacus, and Hunter Rasdon.

On the heels of another strong weekend Morgan has climbed two spots to fifth in the latest CCSDS point standings. Full results from these events, please visit www.COMPDirt.com .
