American Modified Series Releases 2022 Season Schedule

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(February 14, 2022) – The officials of the American Modified Series are excited to announce the 2022 race schedule. With over 19 race nights on the schedule, in 3 different states, it is sure to be an exciting season. This includes several visits to the Land of Lincoln for some big paydays and first ever visit to the Western Kentucky Speedway in September.

The series will start the year off at the Farmer City Raceway as part of the World of Outlaws “Illini 100” weekend April 1st and 2nd. The best drivers in the Midwest will be looking to kick off their race seasons at Farmer City with $600 to win qualifying features on Friday night and $2,500 top prize on Saturday.
The tour will invade several venues multiple times in 2022. Moler Raceway Park, Florence Speedway, and Western Kentucky Speedway all find multiple races on the schedule. We will see the traditional Memorial Day Illinois weekend with a Friday night at Farmer City followed by two consecutive nights at Fayette County Speedway with a finale paying $3,000 to win.

A big weekend for the American Modified Series will take place in August with three straight nights at the Florence Speedway during the North South 100 on August 11-13th. Thursday and Friday AMS drivers will run for $1,000 to win and $3,000 to win finale on Saturday.

On Labor Day weekend the tour will make its third stop to the Farmer City Raceway with $2,500 to win. On Saturday night the series will invade the Fairbury Speedway for the $10,000 to win Super Nationals. The weekend will wrap up at Fayette County Speedway with a hefty $5,000 prize.

In September the series will make its debut visit to Western Kentucky Speedway with a two-night show paying $1,500 and $3,000 to win. The following weekend the series will look to crown their series champion at Fayette County Speedway for the AMS Championship Weekend. The Series will look to pay $1,500 to win in possible twin features and a hefty purse in the season finale that is not finalized at this time. More details on the 2022 season finale will be given later.

Brian Shaw, the 2021 series champion, will look to hold on to his reign with a lot of hungry drivers gunning for him. The series has been going through a difficult time with the recent passing of its co-owner, Dewayne Ragland. Series co-owner, Susie Stall, is poised and ready to continue the series on in 2022. “Dewayne would want us to carry on the series, so that is what we are going to do.” More information will be given in the days to come, including who will be directing the series this season. The series officials are happy with the amazing schedule they have assembled for 2022 and look forward to seeing you at the track!
