Gillee's Napa / Gillee's Lubricants-Citgo Lubricants Rush LM's Return This Week

LAFARGEVILLE, NY - This Friday night will be another program of exciting dirt track racing action at the Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville.  The popular Gillee's NAPA/Gillee's Lubricants-CITGO Lubricants RUSH Crate Late Models will make their third appearance of the season at the fast 1/2 mile, joining the FX Caprara Honda-DIRTcar Sportsman, the FABCO-Pro Street Stocks, TLC Real Estate/Agent Marsha Gibbons-Thunder Stocks and Rookie Sportsman on S&R Automotive night.

The Whitesboro Plow Shop-DIRTcar 358 Modifieds have the night off, but the Crate Late Models are sure to thrill the fans with their full fender, wide open style of racing.  As we close out the month of July and get ready for the last full month of the racing season at Can-Am, the points races are starting to shape up.  When the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds return next week, Billy Dunn will try to extend his point lead over Jordan McCreadie and Ryan Arbuthnot.  Dunn holds a slim 14 point lead over McCreadie and a 26 point advantage over Arbuthnot.  Dave Rogers has had a solid season and holds a comfortable lead over his DIRTcar Sportsman competitors.  The Pro Street Stocks are sure to again go down to the final points night.  Shawn Kirby is currently shown as the point leader, but Sid Harmer Jr. and Mike White are still within striking distance of taking the top spot away.  Joe Orvis has a comfortable lead in the Thunder Stock division, but former champion Phil Desormeau III is sure to keep the pressure  on until the final checkered flag of the point season waves.  There are some exciting shows remaining on the schedule as the season winds down.  It will be Law Enforcement Recognition night on August 3rd, all active Law Enforcement personnel will be admitted free to the grandstands.  The Empire Super Sprints will make their return to Can-Am on Friday night August 10th, their last appearance on July 4th was a race to  remember, as the winner wasn't decided until the final turn of the final lap.  Another full field of sprinters is expected to again thrill the fans.  The very popular Family Autograph night will be held on August 17th, the drivers will bring their cars to the front straightaway during intermission and fans can come down and talk with their favorite drivers.  Many of the drivers will be handing out candy, driver cards and giveaway items.  The Can-Am Speedway point champions will be crowned on August 31st when Can-Am closes out it's 2018 regular season them on September 7th and 8th it will be "Showdown in September" and will bring the curtain down on the first season for new track owner Tyler Bartlett.  A full weekend of racing is on tap with the Empire Super Sprints, DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, RUSH Crate Late Models, Pro Street Stocks and Thunder Stocks competing in special events.  Can-Am Speedway is located just off Rt. 81 at exit 49 in LaFargeville.
