Paul Martin Closes Out Season with CSP Micro Sprint Championship

26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (October 24, 2018) – Paul Martin secured his second Micro Sprint championship in three years Saturday at Canyon Speedway Park.
Martin entered this weekend’s events at with a 16-point lead in the Micro Sprint standings. After winning his heat race from the outside of the front row, Martin would draw the inside of the second row for Friday night's feature event.
“We had a bad fast car with a good wing setup,” Martin said. “Running third in the main, things literally took a turn for the worst. The car went straight off of turn two after threads pulled out of a steering knuckle. That sent me to the sidelines with a seventh-place finish.”
Despite the rough night, Martin entered the final Micro Sprint race of the season at Canyon Speedway Park with a 15-point lead.
“We finished second in our heat and redrew the four for the main,” he said. “After about four laps I lost fuel pressure and fell back to eighth or ninth but was able to work my way back up to seventh. By a slim margin, two lucky sevens were enough to give me my second Micro Sprint championship in three seasons at Canyon Speedway Park. Thank you to Canyon Speedway Park and their staff for everything they do.”
Martin ends the 2018 season with two wins, eight top five, and 15 top ten finishes.
