SNOWBALL CHAMPIONS RING AND PENDANT TO BE AWARDED

Ken Jernigan is a BIG fan of the Snowball competition, so big he is presenting a BIG champions ring and pendant to the winner of the 300 lap classic race. The ring was unveiled at Tuesdays Kickoff Party at Beef 'O' Brady's.

Thw track has been knocking around the idea of a ring for many years. The Snowball Derby is a very special race that is often refereed to as the Super Bowl or Daytona of short track racing. Winning the Snowball Derby is an accomplishment so big it is deserving of more then just a check and a trophy. A ring just made sense. It was important  that the ring be special and that meant he had to find the right person to design it. Preferably someone that is part of the racing family. Ken Jernigan proved to be just that person.  Ken has been a race fan since childhood and an accomplished jeweler since the 7o's. It is obvious both his talent and passion has gone into designing a world class ring for the Snowball Derby.

This special ring features a “5� on top that has the 5 flags woven into the font. Stones adorn the background and Snowball Derby Champion surrounds the top face. One side features which running of the Derby it represents as well as a image of the famous Dawson trophy. The other side features the race details. Ken also came up with a nice companion piece. A pendant that duplicates the top face of the ring.

   

At it's unveiling at Beef 'O' Brady's, past winners expressed an interest in getting a ring of their own so plans are in the works to make the ring and pendants available to previous winners.
