Blurton Excited for Sprint Series of Nebraska Event at Eagle Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – QUINTER, Kan. (April 12, 2017) – Zach Blurton has set out to claim the Sprint Series of Nebraska championship and the chase begins this Saturday with the Ice Breaker Challenge at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb.

Blurton, who is also going after the IMCA RaceSaver 305ci national championship in 2017, is heading to Nebraska with a ton of confidence and a fresh engine.

“We decided after 50 races it was time to pull the engine,” he said. “The only thing we have done besides normal maintenance is change valve springs in that motor. The one we put in only has four or five races on it and we won at Belleville with it last year.”

Blurton finished third in the SSN championship standings – only 19 points out of the championship – last year, when he also posted finishes of sixth and fourth at Eagle Raceway.

“We have great notes for this track,” he said. “We know our car and what we need to do. We just need a little luck on the pill draw. So far this year we have a 74 pill out of 75 and a 63 pill out of 75.

“I like the Sprint Series of Nebraska format. You have to hustle in your heat, but you have a shot at drawing a good starting spot for the feature.”

If Saturday’s event at Eagle Raceway is rained out, Blurton has a backup plan of heading to Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kan.
