“Man, a month or so ago I didn’t know what my racing program was going to look like for the rest of this year, and then Billy Franklin stepped up to the plate to give me this great opportunity,” Overton stated. “I brought some of my awesome supporters with me, and now here we are with three wins already. We had a good car on Sunday night at Rome Speedway too, but just got caught up in that late-race wreck. I’m excited about what we’ve got in place here, and I want to thank each-and-every person who has helped make it possible.”

After losing Monday’s opener to Mother Nature, Brandon Overton returned to action with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern National Series on Tuesday evening at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee). In a field of 31 Super Late Models, Overton locked his spot into the A-Main with a 10-lap consolation victory. Starting in 12th, Brandon gained eight spots in the 35-lapper reeling in a fourth-place finish behind Cory Hedgecock, Eric Wells, and Michael Chilton with Casey Roberts coming in fifth.

On Thursday evening at Toccoa Speedway (Toccoa, Georgia), Brandon laid down the fastest time in his qualifying group, earning him the second-starting position for the feature. Jumping into the lead on the drop of the green flag, Overton navigated through lap-traffic late to capture his first win of the season aboard the Franklin Enterprises #76 entry. Topping Casey Roberts, Dale McDowell, Shannon Buckingham, and Cade Dillard at the line, Brandon was awarded a $3,500 payday for his dominant performance in the 35-lap affair.

The following night brought the Southern Nationals Series to Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Georgia) for the two-day special. With 20 Super Late Models registered for action, Overton qualified third fastest, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the feature. Using a late-race caution to his advantage, Brandon slipped by Casey Roberts on lap-47 and held the top spot for the next six circuits to score his second straight victory and a $5,300 payday. Roberts, Dale McDowell, Joey Coulter, and Ross Bailes rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Returning on Saturday night with both Brandon Overton and Billy Franklin in action, Overton secured his spot into the feature with the fastest time in his qualifying group. Rolling off on the front row, Brandon led flag-to-flag registering his third straight win over Ross Bailes, Dale McDowell, Aaron Ridley, and John Henderson Jr. He captured a $5,300 payday for his triumphant victory in the 53-lapper.

Billy Franklin logged the seventh-fastest time in his qualifying group earning him the 14th-starting position for the feature. Breaking into the Top-10, Franklin jumped up four spots, reeling in a 10th-place finish.

On Sunday night Overton was one of 29 Super Late Models on hand at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia). Following the ninth fastest time in his qualifying group, Brandon gained one spot in his B-Main to finish third. Starting in the 17th position, Brandon Overton improved eight spots in the 53-lapper notching a ninth-place finish.

Brandon is currently second – just 16 markers out of the lead – in the Southern Nationals point standings. For full results from these events, please visit www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com .
