Inside Line Promotions – MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (May 20, 2019) – Kraig Kinser scored a pair of top-10 results last week in Central Pennsylvania.

Kinser kicked off the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action on Wednesday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, where he qualified seventh quickest in his group to open the Gettysburg Clash presented by Drydene. He then placed fourth in a heat race before capping the night with a 10th-place outing in the A Main.

“We qualified where we needed to start in the top half of the field,” he said. “Being able to make it to the A Main through the heat and not having to run a B Main is important. We were fortunate to get qualified well enough we didn’t have to worry about it.

“Lincoln is a tough track, especially when you factor in the PA Posse. The car count was good with solid cars. I’d say it was one of our better finishes at Lincoln. It’s a hard place to go in and have success at.”

Kinser invaded Williams Grove Speedway on Friday and Saturday for the Morgan Cup. After Friday ended with a DNF while leading the C Main, Kinser rebounded on Saturday by setting quick time during qualifying for the first time at the half-mile oval.

“As bad as Friday was Saturday was a great night,” he said. “That’s what you want to do. You want to go in as fast as you can and hope it’s quicker than everyone else. You factor in Williams Grove and everything about it, it’s a pretty big thing to accomplish.”

A runner-up result in a heat race locked Kinser into the dash. He gained a position in the race to finish third, which is where he started the A Main. Unfortunately, Kinser spun his tires on the start and lost several positions on the opening lap.

“We couldn’t get going off the start,” he said. “I spun a little hard for whatever reason and then I was back to sixth or seventh. I wish we wouldn’t have given those spots up.”

Kinser battled just outside the top five throughout the race before posting a sixth-place run.

The team has a hectic week upcoming beginning Tuesday with the first World of Outlaws race at Bridgeport Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J., since 2003. That was the last time Kinser raced at the track, which has been shortened to a 3/8-mile oval.

The action on Friday and Saturday is hosted by The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., for the Patriot Nationals. Kinser will have Profile by Sanford as the primary sponsor during the two races and he will make an appearance at a Profile by Sanford store in Charlotte on Thursday. The address is 7510 Pineville Matthews Road and the appearance is from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The holiday weekend wraps up next Monday at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind., for the Memorial Day Spectacle presented by KOI Auto Parts.

“We’re starting to get into the part of the season where we’ll race a lot,” he said. “Hopefully the weather cooperates and we can race.”
