Inside Line Promotions – PLYMOUTH, Ind. (Aug. 25, 2020) – A four-race swing through Central Pennsylvania is on tap for Greg Wilson and his new Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics, DNC Hydraulics and Gear Off Road sponsored team this weekend.

The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions action runs Thursday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville; Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg; Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown; and Sunday at Bedford Speedway in Bedford.

“We had speed throughout the two nights last weekend and I think we were headed in the right direction and then we wrecked our race car,” Wilson said. “We need to just go and have a decent weekend where we get through it okay so we have the ability to keep building and change things to improve instead of having to rebuild a car.”

Wilson, who ranks sixth in the All Star championship standings, raced with the series twice last weekend. It began on Friday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., where he qualified 18th quickest, advanced a position to place fifth in a heat race and rallied from 18th to 11th in the A Main.

“I felt like we were better than the result we had, but we have a tendency to have our car too tight so I had made up my mind to leave the car freed up,” he said. “The problem is we’ve been too free and we have to figure that part out so we can get qualified better. We left the setup alone all night. We should have done what we normally do and we would have been fine.”

Despite the setup being a bit off, Wilson was tied for the second-most positions gained in the race.

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Plymouth Speedway, where he timed in 19th quickest overall and gained a spot to place sixth in a heat race. That locked Wilson into the A Main, which was unfortunately short-lived.

Wilson, who started 17th, was battling for a top 10 when he was caught up in a race-ending crash approximately a quarter of the way through the feature. The incident broke his front end, smashed the tail tank and damaged the rear of the car, and he was unable to finish the race.

“By feature-time I felt like we had a really good race car, but we have no result or confidence booster to tell us we had a good race car,” he said. “We were coming through there pretty good. There were three guys and I turned to drive under a guy. He got sideways and I t-boned him. Then I got hit from behind. It was just quarter-mile racing and that stuff happens.”
