Hancock Aiming For Perfection Saturday At Macon IL Speedway

Bonuses On The Line For Hancock & Challengers

The Macon Speedway UMP B-Mod division has had some solid fields of cars over the last half of the 2016 season but the end result has been the same for the duration.  Mt. Olive, IL driver, Tim Hancock, a veteran of racing, has been unbeatable in the class this year, winning 15 out of 15 features at the 1/5-mile dirt oval.  This Saturday marks the final night of racing at the track this season and a couple of special bonuses will be on the line.

Saturday will mark the eighth week of racing in which a bounty was on the line for beating Hancock.  It's available to any driver who can successfully win the B-Mod feature with Hancock still on track running at the end.  It has been raised $50 per week, leaving it at $400 for the finale.

The closer will also have some money on the line for Hancock.  If he elects to start at the tail of the feature, a $200 bonus will be added to his pay if he claims the feature win.  For Hancock, it will be a tough decision, as he wants to finish the season a perfect 16-for-16.  However, there are many nights this year where he would have likely won, even starting from the back.

Fans will be watching the B-Mod action closely on Saturday night guessing, "New winner or perfection?"

Saturday's program will be filled with racing in the Midwest Big Ten UMP Pro Late Models, Billingsley Towing UMP Modifieds, UMP Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Hornets, and the aforementioned B-Mods.  In a "Give Back To Fans" night promotion, plenty of giveaways are on the line from the track, sponsors, area businesses, and drivers.  Spectator drags are also on the schedule, allowing fans to sign up to compete in a one on one race in their street legal vehicle.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, drivers meeting at 5:45, hotlaps at 6:00, and racing will begin at 7:00.  Grandstand admission is just $12 for adults, while kids 11 and under are free.
