Quale Scores Pivotal Modified Victory

Champions past and present descended on Magic Valley Speedway on Saturday, June 10, as the high-banked third-mile asphalt oval hosted the Night of Champions presented by RC Willey. The Bud Light NASCAR Modifieds, Zamp Pro-Late Models, Idaho Vintage Racers, Quale’s Electronics Stingers, Project Filter Mini Modifieds, and Bombers provided the racing action while division title winners from across the track’s history awaited their honors at intermission.

Jason Quale dominated the Bud Light NASCAR Modified ranks in his Quale’s Electronics, Fusion Mechanical and Process machine Saturday, winning both his heat race and the night’s feature. Eric Rhead brought his modified home second with Zach Webster’s Idaho Powder Coating and Sandblasting, Advanced Maintenance car third on the night.

The Zamp Pro-Late Models made their season debut at Saturday’s Night of Champions presented by RC Willey. Emilee Newman showed the way in her A/C to Z Mechanical, West River Outfitters entry and took the checkered flag ahead of Johvan Dillon and his Dillon Toyota Lift mount. Eddy Cole crossed the line third, but was disqualified in post race inspection, leaving Dan Root, Jr to round out the podium in his JH Hillock Electric, Castro Sports Apparel car.

Racers in the Bomber division couldn’t lead more than one lap in a row Saturday, which led to a wild feature race. When the dust settled after this barn burner AJ McGuire stood victorious.

Cecil Miles outran Chad Everett to take home the Project Filter Mini Modified feature flag in his Steve’s Quick Stop, Outlaw Customs machine.

Paxton Guiles increased his Quale’s Electronics Stingers point lead with another strong run behind the wheel of his number six car Saturday.

Don Kithcart outran Dean Waltman to take home the Idaho Vintage Racers’ feature victory.

At intermission, Magic Valley Speedway not only recognized a large collection of former track champions, but also announced Steve York, Bruce Quale, and Mark Kidd as the first inductees into the Magic Valley Motorsports Hall of Fame.
