Dover Picks Up Top 10 at Sioux Speedway and Top Five at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 17, 2018) – Jack Dover garnered a pair of top-10 results last weekend in Iowa.
The action began on Thursday at Sioux Speedway in Sioux Center, where Dover placed third in a heat race before he rallied from 10th to sixth place in the Midwest Sprint Touring Series A Main.
“It’s a big half mile and everyone gets strung out so there wasn’t much passing,” he said. “To come out of there with a sixth-place finish from 10th is good. We moved forward and the car is in one piece.”
Dover, who is tied atop the Midwest Sprint Touring Series championship standings, returned to competition on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
“We tried some new setup stuff as far as the chassis goes and I was pleased with it,” he said. “We learned a lot about fueling and it was a night and day difference. I’ve been on the phone this week trying to figure out how to make my car roll the corners smoother.”
Dover qualified fourth quickest, advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race and finished fourth in the main event after starting on the inside of the second row.
“To time trial fourth quickest and to come out of there fourth against some ASCS National Tour guys and the locals that run there weekly was a good night,” he said. “We’re having to try new stuff with this new chassis. We have to fine tune it a little bit, but I feel confident that the car has good speed and is rotating good.”
Dover’s fourth-place result was his 14th top five of the season.
He is slated to compete on Tuesday at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series; on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Midwest Sprint Touring Series; and on Saturday at either Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., or at Knoxville Raceway.
