Hard charging Troutman finishes second in Reutimann Memorial at Volusia
Drake Troutman entered the Jerry Foster-owned No. 5 Modified into battle at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) over the weekend for the 10th annual Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial.
With 49 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds on the grounds, Troutman lost ground in his heat race but reignited his path into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a sixth-to-first run in his B-Main. Putting on another impressive charge in the 50-lap feature, Drake passed 19 cars to register a second-place finish. He chased race-long pacesetter Nick Hoffman across the line with Jeff Mathews, Cody Thornhill, and Josh Sanford rounding out the Top-5.
