Bryan Hulbert – TAMPA, Fla. (February 23, 2022) Opening his 2022 season in Georgia and Florida, Dylan Westbrook took in seven events in both 360cid and 410cid competition, with the Canadian shoe landing land five top-five finishes, along with two podium appearances.

“I felt good for being our first time out this season,” stated Dylan on his overall performance during the seven-race run. “I felt like was had some very respectable finishes, plus to go out and run second with the All-Stars was a pretty neat accomplishment.”

Starting February 11 at Needmore Speedway in USCS competition, Westbrook started the weekend with a runner-up finish but would suffer a DNF the following night that landed the Hills Racing No. 47x sixteenth.

Swapping powerplants for the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 at East Bay Raceway Park, the opening night saw Dylan cross 13th. Only his sixth time behind the wheel of a 410, the following night saw Westbrook pick up an enormous amount of speed, with Dylan timing quickest in his group before chasing down a runner-up finish to Cory Eliason.

“The first night, we learned a lot. Being a year since we’d been to that track, we tried some stuff, and it didn’t quite work like we wanted it to, but the second night, we were able to change the car up, and it was a lot better. I was also a lot more comfortable with how the car felt versus the 360. It’s a different driving style for sure.”

Back in 360 action for the King of the 360’s and Ronald Laney Memorial, Dylan was consistent every night with a fifth-place finish every time he took the checkered flag.

“My crew was joking with me about being too consistent,” chuckled Westbrook of the three straight top-five runs. “Each night, the track was narrow to start with, and I just had to wait for it to widen out in the Feature, but as the race went on, we were getting faster. The last half of the race, we’d start coming on, but just ran out of laps.”

Getting geared up for the start of the 2022 season with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, the Hills Racing No. 47x will head back to the shop to get everything ready for the Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19.

Dylan Westbrook is a part of the Canadian-based Hills Racing Team. The 2022 season marks the 18th year of racing for Dylan Westbrook. Starting with Dirt Bikes and Go-Karts at age five, Dylan has been behind the wheel of a Sprint Car for seven years. Four championships as Ohsweken Speedway since 2015, Westbrook made the jump to the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network in 2020, earning the Brodix National Rookie of the Year.
