Truck Night a Huge Success at Lancaster Motorplex
Lancaster Motorplex did not have the weekly drag program Friday. Instead, trucks of all sizes made their way down the dragstrip. There were classes for Big Rigs (semis, dumps, tow trucks, and others), Pickup Trucks (sponsored by Haleen’s Automotive & Truck Accessories), and even a class for motor homes! It may be the slowest night of drag racing, but it is certainly the most fun!
The Mallare Trucking Big Rig class was won by Tim Markle over Jim Pane when Pane fouled on the starting line.
Mike Mallare won the motor home race with a double breakout on the 16-second index. Brandon Williams was the runner-up.
The Halleen’s Automotive & Truck Accessories Pickup class was won by Matt Hann over Cody Kupie, who got a 10-second head start but Hann won with a starting line advantage.
Tuesday, September 6 is Test & Tune, Trophy Class, NE Open Comp, and Junior Dragsters. Wednesday, September 7 is our weekly Cruise Night and Grudge Drags. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the track will change over to the oval track for the 34th US Open.
