Recap of 2012 for Larry Gibson Racing
2012 was a rough learning season for the blue 2x. Starting the year with a brand new motor package and trying out new settings, the Gibson racing team spent much of the year making adjustments. Towards the end of the year, the hard work started falling into place. The year accumulated to a final race during the AZ Motorsports Hall of Fame weekend, at which Larry’s grandfather Robert Gibson was being inducted. It was a good weekend, with everything finally running smooth.
The first night of the event, Larry finished a strong 5th. The second night, Larry found himself in the main event, leading the pack. Unfortunate timing led to Larry flipping in turn two on the start. Resulting only in a flat left rear, the crew was able to get the blue 2x back on the track. Larry worked from the back of the pack to finish in 9th. The year finished with Larry landed in 10th for the point standings.
