Rico Abreu of Rutherford, California took the lead of the 35 lap Gold Cup feature and then held on for a victory worth $50,000 in the Abreu Vineyards EAGLE prepared by Paul Silva. Abreu started third after finishing in that position in the 12-lap Scramble. He wasted no time in passing front row starters and paced the field to the end. “This is right up there at the top with the Chili Bowl and Belleville,” Abreu said when asked how big the Gold Cup win was for him.

Former UMSS Champion Chris Graf found the racing conditions to his liking, as he came from his seventh starting spot to take the lead on lap 18 and go on to record his first win of the 2016 season in the 15th Annual Billy Anderson Memorial at the Princeton Speedway. Graf earned $2,000 for his effort to open up the scheduled six-race Midwest Power Series with a thrilling victory. This was his 12th career UMSS win and his first Billy Anderson Memorial title.

Glenn Worrell traded his dirt shoes for some pavement ones at Shenandoah Speedway. This loyal EAGLE Motorsports driver not only performs with the Virginia Sprint Car series on dirt but now pavement as well.

Devils Bowl Speedway may have been rained out this week but last week the conditions were right for Dalton Stevens. He put his EAGLE in the winner’s circle for the 5th time this season.

The current leader of the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series points standings, Zach Daum, rallied back at Lincoln Speedway to collect career victory number 17. Daum started on the outside front row and vaulted to an early lead with his new EAGLE car.

Chase Wanner was the top finishing 305 at Lee County Speedway and won with shocks tuned by EMi on his EAGLE.

Two familiar names and one new one to the list in Lightning Sprint results. Jordan Poirier once again lead the field at Autodrome Drummond and crated a HENCHCRAFT top two finish. This with Alex Therrien coming in second in the 20 lap feature event.

Andrew Scheid lit up Winston Speedway on fan appreciation night. I’m sure plenty of fans greeted this talented young man during the on track autograph session with the drivers.

Brandon Johnson drove an Al Trucinski owned car at River Cities Speedway and put another HENCHCRAFT in the winners circle.

A pair of SST’s topped the charts this weekend. Dan Souder visited the Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway in Lanco, PA and darted to a convincing win. He came from 9th to pick up win number two of the season. A much needed victory after multiple nights of engine gremlins while leading.

Fast Frank Galusha bolted a new combination into his SST at KAM Raceway and proved successful once again for the eighth time this season. The victory was extra special as Franks daughter Adilyn joined him in victory lane.
