Lutz hits the Jackpot at Casino Speedway

27 360's entered the back gate on a beautiful Sunday night at Casino Speedway, for the $3,000 to win Buffalo Wild Wings Showdown. The Minnesota Mafia made its only stop at the speedway teaming up with the JSTS, UMSS, and Nebraska 360's along with BWW. This night would run a 2 heat race format, drawing for the starting spot in the first, with a complete invert of the finish order for the 2nd.

Taking heat race win in the first round of heats :Lee Grosz, Jody Rosenboom, Ryan Bowers, and Carson McCarl. Round 2: Eric Lutz, D.J. Brink, Isaac Schreurs, and Troy Schreurs.

With the top 8 in passing points going to the redraw, the next 8 locked in to the A, the rest went on to the B main. It seen the Bargain Barn Tire Center sponsored cars on the Front row with Dusty Zomer and Derrik Lusk. Zomer lead wire to wire followed by Lusk, Tyler Drueke, and Chris Graf being the four that moved on to the 40 lap A Main.

The redraw saw a pair of Mafia contenders on the front row with Jody Rosenboom and 2013 Champ Gregg Bakker. Jody would jump out to a commanding lead when he encountered lapped traffic on lap 17 and ended up going for a wild ride in turn 3 ending his night. This handed the lead off the Bakker, on the restart Eric Lutz gave Bakker a beautiful slide job in turn 3 and snatched the lead away. A couple laps later, Lee Grosz threw his hat in the mix getting around Bakker and running down Lutz, this was shaping up to be a great battle until lapped traffic played a role again with a car getting into Grosz, spinning him out in turn 2 ending any chance at the win. After we get back to green there is solid action from 4th to 11th with two and three wide action until Carson McCarl finds the slick spot in 2 and loops it and laying the car over easily. After a quick trip to the work area he tagged the rear of the field. The last 14 laps clicked off without a hitch and Lutz was never really pressured as he went on to claim the $3,000 payday!
