Rilat Finishes Season With Three Wins, Seven Podiums and 15 Top 10s

Inside Line Promotions – FORNEY, Texas (Nov. 11, 2014) – Travis Rilat has ended his 2014 season with three victories, including a couple of special wins.

“It’s always a big deal to win a race no matter where it is or who you are racing with,” he said. “We won a couple of memorial races that honored good friends of mine. Those really stand out as two of the highlights of the season.”

Rilat kicked off the year by claiming the 3rd annual Tyson Perez Memorial on Feb. 8 at Borderline Speedway in Australia. He claimed a heat race, dash and the feature during the unique event that paid homage to a friend and crew member.

“That was a great way to start the year,” Rilat said. “Tyson was a great friend of mine so it was special to spend some time with his family and to top it off by winning a race in his honor.”

Approximately two months later Rilat scored a victory during the Ronald Laney Memorial at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas, with the ASCS Gulf South Region.

“Ronald was a fierce competitor and a good friend,” he said. “It was nice to be able to win a race named after him. Those type of races make it a bigger deal personally for you. You know both of those guys, Tyson and Ronald, would make fun of you if you didn’t win.”

Rilat also scored a win on June 20 at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, with the ASCS Gulf South Region.

In addition to his trio of triumphs, he added four podium finishes, including three runner-up results. Rilat finished the season with nine top fives and 15 top 10s.

“We didn’t get to race as much as we’d like this year and of course you’re always looking to win more races, but I’m happy with the season,” he said. “I want to thank Richard Saumure for the opportunity to drive for him again as well as John Binz and all of the crew members who have helped out. Also, a big thank you goes to all of the sponsors and partners of Richard’s car as well as mine who help us achieve our dream of racing sprint cars.”
