Andrew Wylie leads early before misfortune strikes in Gary Martz Memorial

Andrew Wylie returned to competition over the weekend as Bedford Speedway hosted the Gary Martz Memorial during the 151st Annual Bedford Fair.

With 22 Super Late Models on hand at the historic half-mile, Wylie secured a spot in the $3,000-to-win feature with a third-place finish in his heat race.

In the A-Main, Wylie took command early, setting the pace on the cushion through multiple restarts. He successfully held off pressure from Matt Cosner deep into the 25-lap affair, but his strong run came to a premature end when mechanical issues forced him to retire on lap 23. He was credited with a 12th-place finish in the final rundown.
