ALL-STAR PRO LATE MODEL MAIN TO LICHTFELD

Wisconsin Dells WI-Portage’s Mike Lichtfeld continued his hot July with a $5000 payday in the Assembly Products All Star Shootout. Randy Sargent and Michael Guderski brought the STACKED field to the green for the 75 Lap feature. Sargent would jump out to the early lead and try to run away as the field would break out into side by side car fights behind him for position. The first of the All Star field to break free and fight for the lead would be Zack Riddle. The Oregon driver would work quickly to put the 11 of Sargent to second on lap 22. Riddle would go on the march trying to put distance on the field. Meanwhile the trio of Kendrick Kreyer, Mike Lichtfeld and Brady Bill would freight train to the front as the race neared the half way point. Riddle would lead until lap 39 when the 16 year old in the 66 would pull past after a brief but furious fight. Storm clouds would start to build as the 44 of Lichtfeld would go work on Kreyer. It was evident that there would be rain and with the race being more than halfway complete Lichtfeld went into all out assault mode. Lichtfeld would make the pass a mere one lap before the rain began to fall being scored the leader with just 27 laps remaining. The cars were sent to the pits to wait out the shower. After almost an hour and a half of waiting and a quick track drying the green would again fly over the field. The 44 would jump out to a half straight away lead and look untouchable. Kreyer would have one more shot as the leaders would catch lap traffic in the waning laps Kreyer would get to and put pressure on Lichtfield but the 44 was just to strong as he would cruise to victory under a sky of fireworks. He was followed to the line by Kreyer, Brady Bill ,Zack Riddle and Nick Nolden. Tyler Schley won the Bmain he and 5 others along with 2 provisional were added to the field to complete the 24 car starting grid. Brady Bill was the night’s fastest Qualifier for the Assembly Products All Star Shootout with a lap of 14.099. The Pro Late Models will have no rest as they return this coming Saturday night for the Kalahari Resort & Convention Centers Night at Dells Raceway Park.
