Top Gun Series and Weekly Championship Racing Continues on Saturday at Central Missouri Speedway!

(Warrensburg, MO) Drivers and fans return to Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) once again on Saturday for week three of the ongoing Top-Gun Series and weekly championship racing in all divisions on Alternative Wire and Cable, Logan Contractors Supply, and Holden Chamber of Commerce Race Night. This week’s race program includes competition among A-Mods, Street Stocks, B-Mods, Mod-Lites, and Pure Stocks, plus E-Mods as part of the Top-Gun Series.

There are just two weeks remaining for drivers to earn weekly racing championship track points at CMS. Tim Karrick appears to be a lock-in for his first-ever A-Mod CMS track championship with a commanding lead over Gunner Martin and Terry Schultz. Brett Wood appears to be on his way to another Street Stock championship as his lead has built over Nathan Vaughn and Chris Kircher. Jake Richards continues leading the B-Mod division ahead of Jacob Ebert and Jeremy Lile while Dillon Raffurty sits atop the Mod-Lites ahead of David and Michael Raffurty. The closest battle is among Pure Stock drivers Logan Headley and Spencer Reiff. Headley is out front by just three points on Reiff while Joey Harper sits in third.

Looking at the Top Gun Series standings heading into Friday, CMS regular Spencer Reiff leads the Pure Stock contingent ahead of Darrin Christy and Marshall Jewett. Steven Maker holds a slim lead over Dakota Earls and Shawn Burns in the E-Mods while multiple-time CMS winner Patrick Royalty holds court over Sturgis Streeter and Jake Richards in B-Mods. The closest battle lies between the A-Mod drivers as current CMS track point’s leader Tim Karrick has a four-point advantage over Terry Schultz in second, Allan Lawrence is third.

The ‘Top Gun’ series takes place each race weekend in the month of August and runs for five weeks using an accumulative championship points system among competition at Lakeside Speedway on Friday nights and Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) on Saturdays. Race divisions for the Top Gun Series includes A-Mods, B-Mods, Pure Stocks, and E-Mods. Remaining Lakeside Top Gun Series Dates are August 16, 23, and 30. The coinciding remaining dates at CMS are August 17, 24, and 31.

The payout is based on five races at each track with the top 10 in each class receiving payout if they race at both tracks at least once. Payout is as follows. A-Mods: $1000, $800, $600, $500, $450, $400, $350, $325, $300, $275. B-Mods: $500, $375, $300, $250, $225, $200, $175, $175, $150, $150. Additional classes in competition for the Labor Day weekend include Street Stocks on both Saturday and Sunday and Mod-Lites on Saturday.

Beyond the Labor Day weekend, CMS is gearing up for the third-annual Street Stock Showdown. The ‘Triple S at CMS’ has quickly grown into one of the most anticipated events of the season and features a $5,000-to-win, 40-lap Street Stock main event paying a whopping $5,000 to the winner! The event gets underway on Friday, September 20th featuring Street Stock drivers competing in three rounds of qualifying heat races. B-Mods and ULMA Late Models are also on the night’s racing card. Then, on Saturday, September 21st, Street Stock drivers return for the final events leading up to the big-money finale. B-Mods return as part of the action along with Mod-Lites to complete the racing card for the night. The event marks the final events of the 2019 CMS season.
