Sixth-place outing in Golden Hornet 50 with Crate Racin' USA
Friday afternoon saw Jake Knowles enter his Knowles Trucking Company No. 66 into Crate Racin' USA competition at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.).
Following the 19th-fastest lap in his qualifying group, Knowles took a provisional starting spot in the A-Main. With $5,000 on the line, Jake powered through the field to finish 13th.
Following the series to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Saturday, Jake picked it up in qualifying by going third-quickest in his group before nabbing the runner-up position in his heat race. Rolling off seventh in the $10,000-to-win main event, Jake wheeled inside the Top-10 and wound up sixth when the checkers flew.
