Clanton lands inside Top-10 in USA Nationals at Cedar Lake

With a short turnaround from Saturday's Prairie Dirt Classic, Shane Clanton and the Skyline Motorsports team rolled into Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) on Tuesday afternoon for the Hawkeye 50 with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.

Following the 12th-fastest lap in qualifying, Clanton recorded a third-place run in his heat which lined him up on the fifth-row of the 50-lap feature. Racing inside the Top-10 in the $15,000-to-win main event, Clanton rolled to an eighth-place outing.

On Thursday afternoon, Shane Clanton followed the World of Outlaws to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) for the first night of the USA Nationals.

With 48 Late Models in the pit area, Shane transferred to the $6,000-to-win prelim feature through his heat race. In the 25-lap sprint, Clanton finished just inside the Top-10 in 10th.

For another night of preliminary action, Clanton took a series provisional to start the second $6,000-to-win feature of the week and recorded an 18th-place outing.

With Saturday's $50,000-to-win finale on tap, Shane lined up on the eighth-row after accumulating enough points to automatically make the A-Main. Falling back to 19th early in the 100-lap feature, Clanton recovered and made his way to the ninth-position when the checkered flag flew.

Wrapping up another busy week of racing, the Skyline Motorsports team visited Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wis.) on Monday afternoon for the Superior Showcase.

Following a fourth-place finish in his heat, Clanton landed in the 13th-position for the $20,000-to-win feature.

Shane is currently 10th in World of Outlaws points.
