Brian Shirley tackles USA Nationals at Cedar Lake with World of Outlaws

Following a strong weekend at the PDC, Brian Shirley quickly returned to the track with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Tuesday afternoon at Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) for the Hawkeye 50.

Rolling off 11th in the $15,000-to-win main event, Shirley gained five positions in the 50-lap feature to land just outside of the Top-5 in fifth.

For another big-money weekend, the Bob Cullen Racing team headed to Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wis.) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the USA Nationals with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.

On the first night of competition, Brian was victorious in his heat race which placed him on the third-row of the first 25-lap preliminary feature. Moving forward two positions, Shirley landed inside the Top-5 in fourth.

For another round of prelims on Friday, Shirley moved forward two spots in his heat race and three spots in the $6,000-to-win feature to record another fifth-place outing.

Locked into the sixth-starting position for Saturday night’s $50,000-to-win USA Nationals finale, Shirley raced inside the Top-10 before fading past the halfway point to finish 15th in the final rundown.

The busy weekend drew to a close on Monday night with a $20,000-to-win XR Super Series event at Gondik Law Speedway (Superior, Wisc.). Racing his way into the feature by winning his heat race, Brian wound up with a seventh-place outing in the Superior Showcase.

Brian is currently fifth in the series point standings.
