Ivey attends Southern Showcase; victorious in 604 Late Model competition
On Friday afternoon, Trent Ivey unloaded two cars at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway for the opening round of the two-day Southern Showcase with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
With 33 Super Late Models checked in, Ivey stopped the clock fourth-quickest before finishing runner-up in his heat race. Rolling off seventh in the $5,000-to-win feature, Trent recorded a Top-10 outing in 10th.
For Saturday's $23,000-to-win finale, Trent was buried in qualifying and finished one spot out of a transfer in his B-Main.
In the Stuhler Motorsports No. 4G over the weekend, Ivey topped the qualifying charts and won Friday's heat to place him on the pole of the feature. With the $1,500-to-win main event slated for Saturday, Trent dominated the 25-lap feature and outran Caleb Gay and Ty Giles who completed the Top-3.
