Tanner Mullens
Mullens moves forward in both ARMS features at Ark-La-Tex
Despite losing the second attempt at the Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek Speedway to Mother Nature, Tanner Mullens was able to find a place to race over the weekend aboard his Mel Hambelton Ford No. 02 Modified.
Joining the American Racing Modified Series (ARMS) for a doubleheader weekend at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.), Mullens squeezed into Friday’s opener with a fifth-to-third run in his heat race. With a $1,500 prize up for grabs in the A-Main, Tanner gained six spots in the 25-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Sean Gaddis, Chris Henigan, and Gary Christian across the line with Philip Houston coming in fifth.
Back at the quarter-mile oval on Saturday, Tanner’s fourth-place outing in his heat race pinned him on the eighth row for the $2,000-to-win finale. Wheeling his way into the top-10, Mullens capped off the weekend by passing eight cars to finish eighth.
