Smith 12th in Farmer City 74 with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

Garrett Smith made the trip to the Land of Lincoln on Friday afternoon and joined 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Late Models at Famer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon.

Setting the bar in his qualifying group, Smith took the checkered flag in his heat race and earned the outside pole for the $25,000-to-win main event. In the extended 74-lap feature, Garrett faded and wound up outside the Top-10 in 12th.

Traveling overnight to Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for the $30,000-to-win Spring Shootout, Garrett qualified second-fastest but went backwards in his heat race which relegated him to a B-Main. Needing a Top-3 position to make the A-Main, Smith recorded an eighth-place outing.
