Ross Bailes shows speed with Austin Kirkpatrick's AK Race Car at Vado Speedway Park
After intially being unsure if he would return to New Mexico for the second weekend, Ross Bailes did make the trip back to Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park on Friday afternoon to finish out the 2025 Wild West Shootout.
Once again behind the wheel of Austin Kirkpatrick's No. 69 machine, Bailes qualified eighth-quickest in his group before charging from fourth to the victory in his heat race by outrunning Bobby Pierce. Ross started on the front-row of the $10,000-to-win main event and ran inside the Top-3 until he brought out a late caution. He was scored 15th.
Bailes finished ninth in Saturday's main event before mechanical issues struck while lining up for Sunday's $25,000 finale. Ross charged through the field and salvaged an 11th-place finish.
