Sixth-place finish at Huset's highlights Vanderheiden's weekend

After Friday’s program at Lakeside Speedway was rained out midway through the night, Cole Vanderheiden returned to familiar territory on Saturday with a stop at Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway.

Lined up seventh in his heat race, Vanderheiden gained one position to finish sixth, sending him to the B-Main. Despite a strong effort, he came up one spot short of transferring to the feature, ending his impressive streak of 17 consecutive top-10 finishes.

He rebounded on Sunday at Huset’s Speedway, charging from 15th to 6th in the main event after a solid fourth-place finish in his heat.
