DADDY DAVE REVISITS US 13 DRAGWAY TO TAKE ON WAYNE PATTON AND HIS BLOWER CAMARO

62nd Anniversary Chevy Show, Shine & Drags August 23 & 24 featuring the return of “Daddy Dave!” Dave will be on property Saturday, August 23.

In just a month, the U.S. 13 Dragway will celebrate its 62nd year of drag racing in Delaware. The Cathell family honor the founders William J and Juanita Cathell, along with Charlie and Joyce Cathell and credit them for the success of the Dragway. This popular weekend expanded a few years ago, now two days, bringing Motorsports enthusiasts and Chevrolet lovers together. This year we are excited to bring back Street Outlaws and NoPrep Kings super star “Daddy Dave” to Delaware. His last appearance was in 2017 and we are looking forward to having him back!

On Saturday, bracket racers will chase the last chance for WDRA points and their final weekend to qualify for the Summit Racing Equipment Bracket Finals. The top drivers in three categories will punch their way to the WDRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals presented by Suncoast held in Montgomery, Alabama. Joining them will be a taste of nostalgia with the Gear Jammers Racing Organization. This group will bring back memories as they dump the clutch and yank gears.

We will have all our bracket classes running that day. We will also honor long time employee and promoter Jerry Ketterman as we bring back his famous Super Bad 8 Door Car and Bad 8 Dragster. Extra money will be put up for these 8 faster door cars and dragsters on the property. A special Late Model Shootout is being planned to be added to the event more information coming soon.

The highlight of Saturday will feature the Return of “Daddy Dave!” Dave will be bringing his new car, Audi S5 Pro Charged Hemi for everyone to see for the first time in Delaware. We have chosen the “Blower Man” Wayne Patton to represent the 302NATION to challenge Daddy Dave to a best two out of three shootout. Spectator (13 and older) Admission is $20, advanced tickets can be purchased on-line at delawareracing.com. Kids 12 and under FREE!

Sunday will feature the always popular OC Cruisers Car Show exhibiting close to 300 Chevrolets while awarding the Top 62 cars on the property. These Top 62 will cruise down the historic 1/4 mile at U.S. 13 Dragway. In competition Sunday will be all of our bracket classes; RMR Motorsports Top ET, Beach Custom Services Mod ET, Kenwood's House of Performance and One Stop Shop Pro Bike, Tire King Sportsman, Hazzard Auto Parts Jr Dragster and Prestige Plumbing and HVAC Teen Challenge. This will be the final day for racers competing in WDRA points series.

Spectator (13 and older) Admission $20, advanced tickets can be purchased on-line at delawareracing.com. Kids 12 and under FREE!

The first 1000 paid admission through the gates on Saturday will receive a souvenir ticket that can be autographed by Daddy Dave!

Saturday gates open at 9am with two time runs and qualifying session for the Bad 8 and Gear Jammers. Fans will get to witness Daddy Dave vs Wayne Patton match races, the first pair will go at 3pm, followed by 6pm and 9pm. Eliminations for our bracket program will begin after the completions of the two time run sessions.

Sunday, the gates open at 9am, the OC Cruisers Car Show registration begins at 9am, Car Show from 10am to 2pm with the Top 62 winners Awards cruising down the track at 3pm. New entry time run , Jr Dragsters & Gear Jammer qualifying session will be at 10am, with eliminations to follow.
