W Marks the Spot for Manning at Maquoketa

Maquoketa, IA (July 24th, 2025) - No matter what was thrown at him, Dylan Manning persevered to pick up his first Midwest Legends Dirt Series win, and his first Weekday Warrior Series Presented by Spankins Motorsports win at Maquoketa Speedway.

It was a twenty-six-car field that visited the fairgrounds on the night. Hot temperatures and the smell of cow manure couldn't stop anyone from making the night.

Three N&S Towing Heat Races were on track first. It was Ryan Sullivan who picked up another heat win in the first one. Lilly Fassbender came home second with Connor Carey third.

Current Weekday Warrior Series points leader Hayden Schmuhl picked up the win in heat two. He managed to beat out Cody Moline and Mike Swenson, who finished second and third.

Glenn Mitchell was able to break through and win the final heat of the night. Manning took the second spot with Dave Eberle third.

A twelve-car redraw put Manning and Eberle on the front row for the twenty-lap A-Main. Manning got the jump and broke away with the lead. Eberle fell back to the grips of Fassbender and Sullivan, with the three dialing for the second spot. Talyn Neuman and Schmuhl got involved as well and found themselves second and third a few laps in. They began to chase down Manning for the lead as he entered into lapped traffic. Cohen Henze caught the front sock and shuffled Neuman back. Caution flew just past the halfway point for some shrapnel on the track. Manning led Schmuhl and Henze back to racing. Henze chipped away at Manning, showing him the nose a few times but not being able to slip by. A plethora of cautions only laps apart led to three final restarts. Manning led the first restart and Henze made his move, jumping into the lead, but seeing yellow right before the final lap. Henze led the following restart, a green-white-checkered, but saw yellow shortly after. A one-lap shootout ensued with Manning getting the jump as the field stacked up. Many tried for the lead and much contact was made all around the field, but in the end, Manning held on.

Dylan Manning picked up his first feature win of 2025, to the jubilation of his crew. Sullivan brought home a “lucky” second while Henze had to settle for third. The Beaver Dam duo of Schmuhl and Neuman rounded out the top ten.

In the end, Manning was awarded contingency prizes from Rush Race Gear and Aero Race Wheels for picking up the win. Keith Moline came home with the hard charger spot and took home prizes from Professional Plating and Rush Race Gear.
