Banks, Oregon- This Saturday, May 2nd, Sunset Speedway Park will host the third race of the season. The Budweiser IMCA Modifieds will be back after a week off and the Micro Sprints will have their first race of the season. Other classes in competition include the Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, and 4-Bee's.

With just one Budweiser IMCA Modified race completed this year Collen Winebarger is the only driver to have won at SSP in 2015. With $650.00 up for grabs for the winner it should attract some top tier talent throughout the state of Oregon to the "Banks Bullring".

The Street Stocks have had two races producing two different winners. In both of those races the victors were in dominating form. Tony Catalano won the Season Opener on April 18th while last Saturday Brian Roden hoisted the winner's trophy. Will it be three for three this Saturday?

It is a similar situation for the Pure Stock ranks as they've had two different winners in two races. Ken Schave was the winner of the first night while John Henry got the lead late in the main last Saturday to pick up his first career Pure Stock victory. A driver that has been awful close the last two races is defending champion Trevor LaBarge, will he become the third different winner this Saturday?

The 4-Bee's is the only class where there has been just one winner. Chris Batalgia was dominant in the first race of the season and last week got the lead late to make it two in a row. Will he make it three in a row this Saturday?

Finally the Micro Sprints will be a treat to watch this weekend as their cars are perfect size for the 1/4-mile clay oval. The drivers that compete in the Open and Restricted classes are the future of Sprint Car racing so you get a sneak peek of pilots that will be in Sprints before too long. There should be a good contingent of local teams from the Portland area while a number of teams are expected to make their way south from the Washington area.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30. Tickets for this event are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
