Rowdy Beyenhof scores I-90 Tri-State Late Model win

Nate Beyenhof used 11 laps to drive from starting position 11 to get the win Saturday night at I-90 Speedway. Brylee Gough got his first win in the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks while Brock Hess was victorious in the Great Western Bank USRA B-Modified feature and Tyler Schlumbohm got his first speedway in in the Lawn and Snow Company USRA Hobby Stocks.

Chuck Swenson led the opening 10 laps of the H&H Mobile Home Service feature event for the Tri-State Late Models. Nick Behenhof challenged for the lead before his younger brother would work around him and then to the lead. Swenson finished second just ahead of Gary Brown, Jr., Jordan Heiman slipped off the track on the opening lap and had to tag the tail of the field, but would come back to place fourth ahead of Ryan Engels.

Craig Hanisch and Brylee Gough played a strong game of cat and mouse battling for the lead of the street stock feature. Hanisch, the division veteran, snuck around Gough for the lead. However, at the white flag, Gough maneuvered to the inside and back to the top spot. Zach Olivier used a bold move to grab the second position just ahead of Hanisch, Tim Dann and Nick Beyenhof – subbing for Travis Schreurs.

Brock Hess used the low side of turn two to grab the lead of the B-Mod main and sail onto the win. Tyler Johnson started ninth and finished second ahead of Lyndon Johnson. Tyler Tesch and Wade Wright completed the top five.

In an exciting finish to the hobby stock feature, the hotly contested battle for the lead resulted in on driver spinning while battling for the top spot while another got his first win. Tyler Schlumbohm celebrated the win while Josh Bradly and Nick Brady finished on the podium. Ryan Mulder and Tracy Halouska completed the top five.

I-90 Speedway races with a double-header this coming weekend. Friday is headlined by the Tri-State Late Models while Saturday welcomes the Property Solutions of America Midwest Sprint Touring Series.
