National point leader's carburetor meets specifications

WISSOTA officials have announced that the carburetor called into question during tech inspection after the races at Granite City Speedway on Friday, July 29 has been determined to meet the proper specifications as outlined in the WISSOTA rule book.

The boosters on the carburetor, which was being used by Street Stock national point leader Tim Johnson, appeared at the track to not meet necessary specifications. Johnson was disqualified from the race as a result. The carburetor was confiscated at that time and later provided by the track tech staff to WISSOTA officials for further inspection. Further testing and measurement indicated that the carburetor did meet all applicable rules.

The carburetor has been returned to Johnson and Johnson’s track and national points have been restored. WISSOTA thanks all of the track officials, the car owner, driver and crew for their cooperation and professionalism while this process was completed and a decision was rendered.
