"Super" Mario Gresham Captures $5,000 602 World Championship Victory at Magnolia
(Columbus, MS – August 9, 2025) – The 602 World Championship crown now belongs to “Super Mario” Gresham. The Rome, Georgia racer pocketed a $5,000 payday Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway after a thrilling 50-lap Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour feature.
Starting deep in the 11th position, Gresham methodically worked his way through the field, cracking the top five by the halfway mark. On lap 28, he moved past early leader Brett White to take the point, but the drama was far from over.
From laps 29 to 44, Gresham and close friend Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, Alabama, waged an electrifying back-and-forth duel, swapping the lead multiple times in front of the Magnolia faithful. In the closing circuits, Gresham found the speed he needed, pulling away to lead the final six laps en route to his second career CRUSA Late Model Sportsman Tour win.
Brett White, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, paced the field for the opening 27 laps after starting outside the front row but saw his winning bid fade on lap 28. The night’s Hard Charger honors went to Kyle Shaw of Millport, Alabama, who stormed from 24th to 4th, one of nine drivers to gain double-digit positions in the main event.
