Kubota High Limit Racing Caps Successful 2025 Season with Championship Awards Banquet in Fort Worth
The second national campaign for Kubota High Limit Racing is officially in the books, and it concluded on Sunday night with another outstanding Championship Awards Banquet at Tannahill's Tavern & Music Hall in the heart of the Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas.
A total of $1,055,00 in points fund money was paid out the 13 full-time teams who followed Kubota High Limit Racing for 51 races with stops in 18 different states from March to October.
Much like the inaugural banquet in 2024, this year's edition offered countless unforgettable moments as the sports' most passionate people spent the evening together.
The talk of town after it was all said and done was the retirement of Brad Sweet, as the six-time national champion announced he will step away from full-time competition in an emotional speech. Approaching his 40th birthday, the Grass Valley, California native plans to spend more time with his wife Rachel and daughter Savannah, while dedicating more focus to business entities Kubota High Limit Racing, NARC 410 Sprint Series, and Silver Dollar Speedway.
National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee, Ricky Warner, celebrated his 11th national championship with Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Year honors. However, it was made extra special being his first alongside his great friend and driver, Rico Abreu. With a tear in his eye, Ricky told us all "Rico was sent by God" to save his career.
Less than a month after his first-ever trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane was spoiled by Mother Nature at Bridgeport Motorsports Park, "Florida Man" Danny Sams III finally got his moment with a confetti shower on the banquet stage - shortly after his girlfriend, Hayley, surprised everyone with a video as she is serving in the Air Force overseas.
To cap it all off, Rico Abreu took the stage as a national champion for the first time in his Sprint Car career. The most popular driver in the sport, who will drive for Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanain Racing in 2026, expressed immense gratitude for his team, his family, his friends, his partners, the series, and most importantly, the fans.
The complete Championship Awards Banquet - with all 13 speeches included - can be found on the FloRacing app and FloRacing YouTube channel.
On top of the points fund, another tens of thousands of dollars in contingency prizes was awarded to drivers and teams, including:
The Musco Lighting Most Improved Driver: Sye Lynch bagged an extra $5,000 for improving his average finish from the first half to the second half of the season more than any other driver. In fact, his average improved more than double his next closest challenger. The Mosites Lynch Motorsports #42 went from an 18.6 average in March-June to a 12.9 average in the closing months of July-October.
The Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Year: As mentioned, Ricky Warner of Rico Abreu/Curb-Agajanian Racing earned this $5,000 honor while leading Zack Middlebrooks and Brady Forbrook on the #24 team. The $5,000 bonus came on top of another $1,500 that Warner already earned in monthly bonuses, topping the Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Month standings in May, August & September.
The Kubota Genuine Parts Spirit Award: An honor reserved for those who make a positive impact and brighten the lives of everyone around them while traveling across the country, this year's $5,000 bonus went to Eric and Lisa Sanders. They joined the High Limit team this year and instantly became favorites on the merchandise side as they ran the t-shirt area and operated ShopHighLimitRacing.com.
The keys to the High Roller themed Jake's Golf Cart went home with Rico Abreu, who now joins Tyler Courtney in possession of a series golf cart. Rico earned the golf cart over Aaron Reutzel by a tally of nine Jake's Golf Carts Fastest Lap Awards to Reutzel's seven.
For winning the most FK Rod Ends Dashes, Brad Sweet collected a $2,500 bonus. "The Big Cat" earned the pole position six times in 2025, while his next closest challengers were down at three between Justin Peck, Daison Pursley, Aaron Reutzel, and Daryn Pittman.
Scoring another $5,000 bonus, Tanner Thorson was given the Rod End Supply Hard Charger Award. The Rod Gross Motorsports #88 team earned more nightly Hard Charger Awards than anyone else (six) and also advanced more positions than anyone else on tour (+149).
The Sunoco Racing Fuels Champions Award also sent the Rico Abreu/Curb-Agajanian Racing #24 team home with 10 barrels of Sunoco Racing Fuel.
The Racing Electronics Perseverance Award was given to Danny Sams III, who received a new set of RE Ear Molds.
Comp Cams also awarded the top-three engine builders, in driver and points, with $500, $300, and $200 product certificates, respectively. Rico Abreu's #24 collected $1,000 for Speedway Engines, Brad Sweet's #49 earned $500 for Capetta Engines, Aaron Reutzel's #87 claimed $300 for Rider Racing Engines, and Brent Marks' #19 scored $200 for HP Engines.
Up next for High Limit Racing is the return of High Limit International, which features the growth of the highest-paying event in Australian Sprint Car Racing history. Held on December 28-30 at Western Australia's Perth Motorplex, this year's event will feature two prelims paying $15,000-to-win with a record-setting $110,000-to-win AUD finale. Three-day ticket packages are available now at Motorplex.com.AU. And, as always, every lap will be streamed live on FloRacing.
