New ‘Lease’ on Life: Airborne Park Releases 2024 Season Schedule

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.—Airborne Park Speedway’s 70th season schedule is here, and it is jam-packed with huge events. The lightning-fast half-mile will host plenty of thunder in 2024, with a Thursday night schedule base, and some big events to kick off a brand-new era in north country racing.
The season will begin on Sunday, April 28th, with the 40-lap, $4,000-to-win Leon Gonyo memorial race for the Be Cool Air Conditioning 358 Modifieds. In May, the points season begins for the J&S Steel Sportsman Modifieds with the first Thursday night show on May 2nd. The Short Track Super Series makes their first stop at Airborne Park on Thursday, the 30th for the 70-lap “Adirondack Invasion,” paying $7,070 to win.
In June, The Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds will make a stop at Airborne Park on Saturday, June 15th in a show that will also feature the pro stocks and mod lights. June is a huge month that also brings kids’ rides, Mid-Season Championships, driver autographs and topless night.
July features a Wednesday night race, a special “Firecracker 44,” paying $2,000 for the Sportsman on July 3rd. Thursday, July 25th brings the brand-new American Racer Tire North Series for the 358 modifieds with a 60-lap race paying $3,000-to-win.
In another historic first, fans will see the first Sprint Cars of New England series race at Airborne Park on Saturday, August 10th. August also features a Vermont 200 qualifier on the 22nd, and the kids’ backpack giveaway on the 29th.
September closes out the season with 358 modified championship night on Thursday, September 19th, and for the Sportsman, Renegades and Mini Stocks on the 28th. A 100-lap, $5,000-to-win sportsman show will follow on Sunday the 29th to cap off the 70th season.
