2024 HAMLIN SPEEDWAY SEASON PREVIEW #2 March 31, 2024
Hamlin Speedway 2024 is going to be a barnburner!
We are three weeks away from Bug Day scheduled for Saturday April 20th, weather permitting. Several other tracks are preparing grounds, running practices, and ramping up already for their 2024 season. Hamlin Speedway is located 35 miles north of Stroudsburg and Interstate 80, but it can seem like far more with the temperature differences. It is much colder, and the snowmelt can run into March.
Track and ground preparation will begin next week or as soon as the weather permits, with days of rain forecasted this week. Loads of clay are scheduled for delivery this week by Frantz Trucking. The annual paperwork is being processed and the scoring database set up. We need all drivers to submit the
Driver Profile-Tax Info Sheet ASAP including your transponder number and all those needing the Minor Release Form. Inspection Forms will be available on Bug Day.
To clarify the GAMBLERS: Each week has a SPECIAL by division with a
GAMBLERS Option.
The GAMBLERS option is available to all drivers racing this SPECIAL and requires an additional $50 to be paid at registration. This option must be taken prior to the PILL DRAW for that event. The GAMBLERS, if taken, and if that driver wins the Feature event – the payout for 1st place, based on car count, will double$. If 20 or more cars entered – payout: $500 x 2 = $1000 to Win or Less than 20 cars – payout: $300 x 2 = $600 to Win. Only the winner’s payout will double.
Please Note: The SPECIALS are offered for all divisions in various forms, from $500/$300 To Win, Nationals, Speedweek, and driver introductions, to four Xcel Chassis Tour Events for the Xcel 600 Modifieds. Everyone is included in our barnburner in 2024!
Now to expand on the FANFEST plans for 2024. We are very excited to bring this monthly special to the fans and racers! Jude Murante is our head flagger and the FANFEST coordinator.
From Jude:
- FANFEST Begins at 4pm and goes on until 5 minutes prior to the Drivers Meeting.
2.FANFEST is intended for FANS to meet drivers, buy merchandise, get hero cards, candy, etc.
3.We will have GIVEAWAYS of products and goods, to be randomly drawn by
General Admission wristband numbers, with the winners announced prior to Features.
4.Driver Interviews will be done as well.
5.Drivers will meet at victory circle for FANFEST to show off their rides!
The first FANFEST event is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 5/25/24, beginning at 4pm near Victory Circle. This is the Junior Slingshot SPECIAL with Driver Introductions event. Let’s make this FANFEST a huge success!
The GENERAL ADMISSION prices have remained the same for over ten years. Adults $10, Seniors $5, and Ages 6 & Under are Free. We continue to offer specials for Senior Citizens Night for $3, Veterans $3, and Pack the Car for $25 with a maximum of 10 per car! We would love to pack the stands to enjoy the fantastic racing at Hamlin Speedway.
BUG DAY is Saturday April 20th for safety inspections, pit spots, and open practice from 2-6pm. Please have the Driver Profile/Tax Info Sheet and the annual Minor Release form ready. Gates open at noon.
Preview #3 will include details about the All Star Dirty 30, sponsored by EH GOCHNAUER, reveal another Wingless 600 Sprints Special, and potential special appearances of many former competitors and staff.
