Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Oct. 24, 2019) – Greg Wilson visited the Midwest last weekend for the final time this season.

Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road sponsored team tackled a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader, kicking off the weekend on Friday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown.

“The track was really racy for that place,” he said. “It got kind of slick. For whatever reason we’ve struggled in the slick, which is not normally a problem that we usually have. We’re trying some stuff that has been an issue. You can’t just do a little change. If you want to know a direction you have to take a big swing at it. We did that and just never could get it good.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway during the inaugural Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends. Wilson made the A Main after a charge from eighth to fifth in the Last Chance Showdown. However, the main event was short-lived as he pulled into the infield a few laps after the green flag was waved.

“On Friday we were doing some stuff a little different,” he said. “I changed my thoughts up and we went the other way for Saturday. For the situation with all the rain we were tight all night until the B Main. Finally I went back the other way enough that we were better. In the feature it was so muddy the dish of the wing was completely full of mud in the first couple of laps. It wasn’t worth the risk of wrecking our stuff running 20th so I pulled in early.”

Wilson plans on taking the next two weeks off before wrapping up the season Nov. 7-9 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the Can-Am World Finals with the World of Outlaws.

“We’ve been trying some stuff and some of what we’re trying doesn’t work,” he said. “It’s a learning process. We’ve decided to put a new car together for Charlotte and we’ll see how it goes.”
