LACROSSE & LEMMENS LEAD THE WAY AT LUXEMBURG SPEEDWAY
(Luxemburg, WI) 5/19/18 Race Report- A total of 111 packed the pit area for a rare Saturday night shootout at Luxemburg Speedway. The IMCA Stock Cars lead the car count with a total of 27, there were 26 IMCA Modifieds, 24 Sport Mods, 17 Street Stocks and 16 IMCA Sport Compacts. We are off next week, racing resumes on Friday June 1. 7:00pm start.
Kyle Resch paced the opening circuits of the IMCA Stock Car main event until last years Street Stock Champ Paul Diefenthaler raced by on lap 5. Midway through the contest Luke Lemmens began work the low groove, closing in on the Diefenthaler. With 2 laps remaining Lemmens made his move, working past Diefenthaler for the top to secure a $500 payday. Diefenthaler had to settle for second, Eric Arneson placed third, Kyle Frederick was fourth and Dave Bouche completed the top five.
Benji LaCrosse dominated the IMCA Modified main, leading all 20 laps from his front row starting spot en route to a $700 top prize. Brad Theys had a solid run to place second. Shawn Kilgore raced from his row 6 starting spot to finish third, Russ Reinwald took fourth and Josh Long rounded out the top five.
In IMCA Sport Mod action it was Todd Wiese taking the lead from Vince Engebregtsen midway through the feature. Once out front Wiese never looked back, scoring the win. Engebregtsen was the runner up, third went to Jarred VanLaanen, Tom Stark was fourth and Race Van Pay took fifth.
Racing from the last row in the Street Stock feature, Jordan Ross made the winning pass on Kevin Luedtke with 9 laps remaining to score his first ever Luxemburg trophy. Luedtke was second, Dylan Stedjee took third, Kraig Koehler was fourth and Allen Dillon placed fifth.
Mike Mier was victorious in the IMCA Sport Compact main.
