Championship Night

The season championship of 2016 for the Murray County Speedway was held on Friday September 2nd. The races were sponsored by Chandler Coop and Croplan Genetics. All of the points chase were close in all classes, except the Modified class.

MCRA S&S Electric Pick Ups
Jordan Rolling and Jon Joehnck lead the field to the start. As the green flag drops Joehnck jumps out to the lead. Nikkya Betz, Matt Odom, and Jason Wynia go three wide for the third place position. Odom drops back to the fifth place position. Rolling challenges Joehnck for the lead. Joehnck is able to hold off for the win with Rolling and Betz following close behind. Jon Joehnck wins the season championship over Matt Odom.

IMCA Last Chance Auto Parts Sport Compacts
Rob Pottratz and Jason Uhl lead the field to the start. As the green flag drops Tori Groebner and Uhl go side by side for second place. Groebner takes over the place. Ryan Westman challenges Uhl for third place. Westman is able to take over third place. Groebner makes her way around Pottratz for the lead. Groebner is able to hold off for the win with Pottratz and Westman following close behind. Joe Bunkofske with his 5th place finish, wins the championship over Matt Smith.

IMCA Bolluyt Trucking Hobby Stocks
Cody Ross and Ernie Dailey leads the field onto the track. As the green flag waves Adam Synder gets the lead. Jon Schmidt, Dan Strandberg and Derek Platt go three wide for the third place position. Strandberg takes over third place and passes Ross and Synder for the lead. Trevor Holm challenges Schmidt for the lead. A caution is out for Blake Arends spinning in turns one and two. On the restart Strandberg jumps out to the lead. Schmidt, Platt, and Cory Probst go three wide for fourth place. A red flag is out for Adam Synder rolling. On the restart Strandberg take the lead. Justin Luinenberg passes Dailey for fourth place. A caution is out for Eric Gillette coming to a stop for a flat tire. On the restart Strandberg takes the lead. Holm drops to the back. Strandberg is able to hold off for the win with Prosbt and Luinenberg following close behind. Cory Probst wins the championship over Trevor Holm.

IMCA Sturdavants Auto Supply Northern Sport Mods
Travis Pierson and Wade Gunnick lead the field onto the track. When the green flag waves Pierson jumps out to the lead. A red flag is out for multiple cars rolling, which leaves only five cars racing. On the restart Devin Martin jumps out to the lead. A caution is out for Gunnick as he spins in corner three. On the restart McMartin takes the lead again. Tony Rialson and Jeremy Van Ede go side by side for second place. McMartin is able to hold off for the win with Rialson and Van Ede following close behind. With his third place finish, Jeremy Van Ede wins the championship over Tony Rialson

IMCA Sign Pro/Car Toyz Stock Cars
Mike Carlson and Shaun Bruns lead the field to the start. As the green flag drops Bruns jumps out with the lead. Levi Feltman, Gary Mattison, and Kevin DeBaere go three wide for fourth place. Feltman takes third place. Jim Larson makes his way around Jake Bruns for the fourth place position. A caution is out for Luke Sathoff. On the restart Shaun Bruns jumps out for the lead. Feltman and Devin Kuehne battle for the second place position. Jake Bruns makes his way around DeBaere for fifth place. Shaun Bruns is able to hold off for the win with Kuehne and Larson following close behind. Jake Bruns wins the championship, with Levi Feltman in second place.

IMCA R&H Sealcoating Mods
Josh and Jesse Rogotzke lead the field to the start. As the green flag drops Jesse Rogotzke jumps out to the lead. Jeffery Larson and Dalton Magers makes their way around Bonnstetter for third and fourth place. Aaron Krohn passes Bonnstetter for fifth place. Larson gets high and falls back. A caution is out for Jay Noteboom. On the restart Jesse Rogotzke jumps out front. Krohn and Tyler Limoges go side by side for fourth place. Krohn takes fourth place and passes Josh Rogotzke for third place. Limoges makes his way around Krohn for third place. Magers challenges Jesse Rogotzke for the lead. Magers takes over the lead. Limoges makes his way around Jesse Rogotzke for second place. A caution is out for debris on the track. The caution will be charged to Larson. On the restart Limoges jumps out front. Jesse Rogotzke and Krohn go side by side for third place. Limoges is able to hold off for the win with Magers and Jesse Rogotzke following close behind. Tyler Limoges is the winner of the Modified class for 2016.

The Murray county speedway will be taking a week off. We will end our season on September 16th with the races being sponsored that night by Rob-See-Co Seeds. This night will be ran for IMCA Regional, State, and National Points.
